Today I am a senior citizen...or 55 is the new 75.

February 20, 2014

Happy Birthday to me,
                                     Happy Birthday to me,
                                                                           Happy Birthday dear me,
                                                                                                                      Happy Birthday to me!!!!

Today I turned 55....

I have become a Senior Citizen.

That is according to AARP--55 is the year when you can get senior discounts at all kinds of places.

I have the distinguished gray hair, aches and pains all over, have a granddaughter, and can't stay up past 9:00 PM.

*(Gotta get up by 5:30 AM.)*

I think these are more than adequate mile--stones that should automatically give me discounts on all the purchases I make.

And I STILL have Parkinson's Disease! When is this going to go away??  I thought if I took my meds and exercised it would go away.

But nnononononononononononnonnonononononono!

It is still here with a vengeance.

Am planning on DBS in May...maybe the symptoms will slow for a while. I  could use a good ten years or so, then maybe some new treatment with be discovered....

Have been needing some strong pain relief for whatever I did to me--my left hip/pelvis/leg--four months of neurologic pain--it's BAD

The medication competely knocks me out so I just take it at night because the pain keeps me awake otherwise.

But then I am hung-over the next day...(like today)

Pain will make you feel old, trapped in your body, feeble (even though you're not), and cranky.

SO for the pain I have been taking two different kinds of prescription medication as well as an over the counter typer.

I use:
heat *exercise *an electrical stimulation unit* topical heat ointments * stretching *

I have been going to Physical Therapy as well.

I highly reccomend PT to anyone who has needs it.

The P Therapists are so knowledgeable.

Every one I have ever had has always helped.

Nora my current PT is no exception. She is funny and smart and helps so much. And all of them have always CARED about the patient and their skills.

I can't die though before I get my book completed.

I have been working on it for the most of the day today.

To pull myself out of it and come back to this story can be confusing for me, especially when I have been immersed in it for hours at a time.

So to recap:
*I managed to turn 55 and become a Senior Citizen today
*Get a ton more written in the novel
*manage to stay in out of the stormy weather
*have some excellent PT.
*No cake, no candles.
*When you get to be a Senior Citizen you can have your birthday any way you want it.

Now the only fly in the ointment is the stupid job.

Gotta get away from that.
But gotta find a way to support self.

Any of you PowerBall winners want to give me a million that would keep me going for a really long time....?

Anybody?

I am a very responsible SENIOR CITIZEN folks !!

Until next time,

Peace and Love
